Happy Summer!

What a great year we had on Yellow Team! We enjoyed the time we had with each and every one of our students this year. Please have a safe and relaxing summer! Good luck in middle school!

Week of May 15th

As we bring things to a close this year on Yellow Team, there are still a couple of important dates coming up.

Wednesday, we will be walking to the park and playing from 10-2. Students should bring: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, sack lunch from home (unless they ordered one from school), and a water bottle. Students may also bring an outdoor toy like a frisbee or jump rope (no footballs or baseball bats).

Thursday is our field trip to Fritz’s. We will leave school at 8:45 and return at 2:00. Students should dress in PE clothes and MUST wear tennis shoes. Again students should bring a sack lunch from home unless they ordered one from school. Electronics will not be allowed on the trip. Because of the nature of the trip (climbing, jumping, crawling) students will not want things in their pockets.

Friday is a half day with dismissal at 12:30. We will have our end of year assembly at 9:30 am.

Week of May 8th

Our field trip is quickly approaching on Thursday, May 18th. Please make sure that all permission slips and money are turned in by THIS FRIDAY. We need an accurate head and lunch count for this trip. If you cannot turn in money or permission slip by this date, please make sure you have communicated with your child’s homeroom teacher so that we still know who is going.

This Thursday is our district transition day. All 6th graders will be travelling to the middle school for a tour. You should have received an email with details.

This Friday is field day. Please remember to send a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, towel and change of clothes with your student. A hot dog lunch will be provided to all students free of charge on this day.

The 6th grade party is Thursday night from 6-8 pm. If your child purchased a ticket, please drop them off at the front doors at 6 pm. We would also appreciate all students being picked up on time at 8 pm. School rules and dress code apply.

Yellow team will be walking to the park on Wednesday, May 17th. Please send water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and sack lunch. They may also bring an outdoor toy like a ball, jump rope, or frisbee (footballs are not allowed.) ***Sack lunches can be purchased from the school- just have your child let their homeroom teacher know they need one. If you DO NOT want your child to walk to the park with us, please inform your child’s homeroom teacher.

Have a great week!

Week of May 1st

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week. I have let students know that if they would like to send a note or card to any of their Willard teachers, past or present, I would be glad to make sure it gets delivered to the appropriate building.

*********Field trip permission slips were sent home on Friday. Please return these along with $12 NO LATER than Friday, May 12th. Several students have already indicated that they lost the permission slip they were given so a new one may be printed at the link below.*********

Yellow Team Field Trip Permission Slip

Sixth grade party permission slips and money are due Tuesday, May 2nd. No late permission slips will be accepted as food and party favors need to be ordered this week.

Yellow Team has planned a day at the park for Wednesday, May 17th, weather permitting. Students will need to bring a sack lunch from home or order one from the cafeteria. Also, make sure students bring sunscreen and a hat/sunglasses. If you do not want your child to walk to the park on this day, please send a signed note.

Willard Intermediate’s first ever Innovation Day will be held THIS Friday. Feel free to come by and see some amazing presentations by our own innovative students.

The last late bus will be Tuesday, May 9th. Students staying for any reason after this date will need to make alternate arrangements.

Have a great week!

Money raised is used for spring field trips.

The 11th Annual WIS Talent Night is THIS THURSDAY from 5:30-8 pm. Make plans to attend- it’s always an amazing night. Winners for the chance to win drawing will be drawn around 7pm. You do not need to be present to win.

Week of February 27th

WIS Talent Night is March 9th. Make plans to be here- it’s always an amazing night.

Our building wide fundraiser is in full swing. Students are selling ‘chance-to-win’ tickets for $1 each. Tickets purchased go towards some fantastic prizes like a new Chromebook, $200 gift certificate to Worden’s meat, and more. Prizes will be drawn at Talent Night on March 9th, but you do not need to be present to win. The proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to our spring field trips, so help students get those tickets sold!

This Friday is a $1 dress up day- Dress up as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Money goes towards field day this spring.

Please remind your students to bring their basic school supplies and check with them to see if they are running low on anything. We have had lots of kids without things like scissors or colored pencils. Sharing what limited supplies the teacher may have makes class activities go much slower so we would greatly appreciate if you’d check and make sure they have what they need. (As always, contact Mrs. Skaggs if you are struggling to provide school supplies for your child.)

Night at the Museum t-shirts are out. If you’d like your student to have the 1st Annual WIS Night at the Museum t-shirt, send in order form and money ASAP.

Have a great week!
